The U.S. (in)justice system’s refusal to indict Darren Wilson and Daniel Pantaleo for the murders of Mike Brown and Eric Garner sparked a movement against police brutality that really targeted institutionalized racism. In a unprecedented number of weeks of constant protest and action, that movement challenged the racist state across this country. Join the Party for Socialism for a very special forum on the struggle against police brutality and racism.

Eugene Puryear is a co-founder of the Washington D.C. anti-police brutality group DCFerguson which mobilized thousands of people at the height of the national movement. A leader in the PSL, he ran a 2014 campaign for D.C. Council with the slogan “DC for the People.” He recently appeared on Democracy NOW! and is a frequent guest of Abby Martin’s TV program “Breaking the Set” on Russia Today. He is also author of the book "Shackled and Chained" which analyzes the political and social repression behind the prison industrial complex.

Sponsored by the Party for Socialism and Liberation, which is a member organization of the ANSWER Coalition.
