DC Protest in Solidarity with Gambia

The ANSWER Coalition actively supports the following demonstration initiated by the Democratic Union of Gambian Activists to protest the BGR Group, which has recently agreed to lobby for the Jammeh regime - a government that enjoys the support of the United States despite its long record of infringing on the rights of the Gambian people. Below is a press release prepared by DUGA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FROM K STREET TO 13TH STREET, PREDATOR LOBBYIST SANITIZE JAMMEH
The Democratic Union of Gambian Activists – DUGA
will hold a protest at the BGR Group lobbying firm at:

Place: The Homer Building
Eleventh Floor South
601 Thirteenth Street NW
Washington DC, 20005

Date: July 30, 2013

Time: 12:00pm – 1:30pm

The BGR Group is another lobbying firm hired to sanitize the filthy Jammeh regime after Jefferson Waterman International (JWI) attempted but withdrew from that blood – laden contract as a result of our protest in outrage.

Like JWI, the BGR Group will be paid a staggering $45,000 per month (D1.4 million dalasis) while poverty and hunger ravage our beloved Gambia. We thought K Street was the only corridor littered with African skeletons devoured by predator - vulture lobbyists; only to see the inclusion of 13th Street.

We are outraged by this naked robbery of our meager resources by predator lobbyists of Washington. We made JWI to back down, as we will make BGR Group to back down. Come out in numbers and show your outrage.

The Jammeh regime has reached the end of its rope and no amount of money and lobbyists can wash the blood of the Gambian people from his hands. Stand up against tyranny and uproot the Jammeh regime!

PROTEST AGAINST THE VULTURES AND PREDATOR LOBBYISTS OF K AND 13THSTREETS!
