On Sunday August 26th, National Women's Equality Day, W.O.R.D. (Women Organized to Resist and Defend) Los Angeles is calling for a mass protest in Hollywood to defend women's rights. We want to let the politicians of both major parties know that we will not stand by while women's rights are under attack.

This Saturday, August 11th, W.O.R.D. Los Angeles is holding a volunteers meeting! Join us if you would like to get involved and build the August 26th demonstration for women's rights. At this meeting you will be able to:
- Find out more about W.O.R.D. LA and connect with volunteer activists and organizers who are taking action against the war on women!
- Discuss ways to get involved and help spread the word about this important demonstration. We've done some great outreach all over Southern California so far, but there is a lot more to do! Come get stickers, flyers and posters and help us spread the word!
- Discuss the latest political updates in the war on women - and how we plan to fight back! We will discuss plans for the day of August 26th and our strategy for building the movement in LA and beyond!
- After the meeting, join an outreach team for a chance to hit the streets and let everyone know about August 26th!
Volunteers from all over Southern California are working hard to build the August 26th demonstration for women's rights, but there is still time to get involved. Come, bring friends and join this important movement!
The ANSWER Coalition is actively supporting the W.O.R.D. call for demonstrations around the country on August 26th to defend women’s rights.The August 26th demonstration was initiated by WORD (Women Organized to Resist and Defend), a new grassroots, feminist organization that is dedicated to building the struggle for women’s rights and equality for all.
