The Seed of Wisdom is making a “Stand with Ramona” Encouragement Video. Ramona needs encouragement from her family and friends from all over the world. We are having a video making party to bring people together to also give people the opportunity to say to Ramona how they feel about her.
UPDATE AUG. 24:
We heard from a reliable source that Medicaid is refusing the grant that the rehabilitation facility put in for her to be able to stay there and receive therapy and nurses care. Medicaid is saying that because of the GoFundMe account, Ramona is able to pay her own bills, and she can stay in the rehab facility for $560 a night, which would be $3,920 a week. Therapy is $200-$300 per session, 5 days a week, which is $1000-$1500 a week (Ramona also has an accumulated past due bill for hospital stay that’s $6,720. She’s being told she must pay this amount or her bank account may be subject to search and seizure [this account is where her GoFundMe donations are being deposited]). Ramona is receiving an outpouring of sympathy and support, but we don’t know for how long she’ll be able to afford these kind of bills, barring nothing unforeseen happens. In the meantime, we’ve decided to bring her home and work from there as best we can. We don’t think Ramona has to worry though, not with the support all of you and her family are giving her.
The MOVE Organization's Minister of Communications Ramona Africa, the sole survivor of the May 13, 1985 Holocaust that murdered 11 men, women and children, has been gravely ill for the past few months.
She has been hospitalized due to complications from post-traumatic stress disorder that resulted in a stroke. During her diagnosis, it was discovered that Ramona also has cancer.
“Ramona’s disease is a direct result of the on-going war waged on our Move Family by this government,” said Pam Africa. “Two of our family members died in prison under suspicious circumstances termed 'cancer'. Now Ramona is diagnosed with 'cancer' and once again, she’s battling to be a survivor. We are standing strong and fighting for the proper medical care for our sister.”
The hospital has informed the MOVE Family that Ramona’s insurance will no longer cover her hospital and therapy bills, and that she will be released from both hospital and therapy unless she can pay the bills herself. To that end, a GoFundMe page has be established to raise money for her care.
The MOVE Family will provide details on Ramona’s medical diagnosis and what is needed for her care and recovery. Your coverage is encouraged.
