Brian Becker speaks on RT on the effort to draw full scale NATO intervention into Syria.

"It's completely ludicrous that the Syrian government would use chemical weapons at the very moment that the UN is launching its investigation about chemical weapons, and especially because the Syrian government has the advantage.

"I think the big goal of those who carried out this staged provacation is to disrupt any sort of negotiations that could lead to a positive outcome for the existing Syrian government. Meaning that the forces of the civil war have not succeeded in dislodging the Assad government. That's their plan, because they know without Western intervention... there's no possible way they can succeed on the Syrian battlefield. They don't have the popular support in Syria, and they don't have the military wherewithall to defeat the Syrian government."
