Flood the Subways!

Spread the word about MLK, download our flyer to take on the trains!

Flood the Subways with your signs and your voices on Jan. 15. To truly honor Dr. King’s birthday means standing strong and speaking out!

Every high school, college and community can do this — to and from school or work. Everyone can flood the Subway with their message, their chants, and their signs.

This event is in solidarity with the other actions taking place on Thursday across NYC. If you are going to another action (African Burial Grounds, 1pm; Grand Central 6:30pm; or any other event), this is something you can do on the way to and from!

In the name of Mike Brown, Eric Garner and all the victims, take to the trains with your friends, speak out, lead chants against racism, pass out literature, and bring your signs. It is legal to do so. Show the whole city and country — We will not be silent!

Need ideas for what to say on the subway? Download our sample train pitch!

Remember to take pictures and use #FloodtheSubways on social media!

“There comes a time when silence is betrayal.” — Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Good evening everyone! Wanted to make it clear what will be happening for tomorrows event. At the following locations and times there will be volunteers meeting up and going out together to give quick educational speeches about MLKs life. We have sample pitches at the link below. Each team when they meet will wait 20 minutes and give a short training on how to give pitches and then we will be out on the trains, so please do not be late! To get involved, show up to one of these locations tomorrow and look for the small crowd gathering or the yellow signs (some folks may have them.) We will be posting information tomorrow as well about more specific meet up locations for Bayclays Center and Roosevelt Ave so stay tuned. Comment on this post if you'd like to sign up and give your information so we can be sure that we don't leave without you! 1. Harlem - 135th St. & Lenox Ave. @ 2pm 2.
