Protesters converge on the White House for biggest U.S. protest yet against Trump's coup in Venezuela

Protesters traveled from all across the East Coast, South, Midwest and West on March 16 to attend the National March on the White House to say no to the coup, war and sanctions on Venezuela. The large crowd constituted the biggest expression of solidarity to date in the United States with the people of Venezuela as they resist a new, intensified stage of imperialist aggression initiated by the Trump administration.

Initiated by the ANSWER Coalition and endorsed by hundreds of grassroots organizations and activists, the demonstration began outside the White House, marched through downtown Washington, D.C., and ended with a packed indoor teach-in. Prominent progressive leaders including Jill Stein, Daniel Ellsberg, Cindy Sheehan, Gloria La Riva and Max Blumenthal addressed the rally and the teach-in.

Simultaneous protests took place in Peru, Mexico, Argentina and several additional countries, and in U.S. cities Los Angeles and Seattle; a coordinated protest took place in San Francisco on March 9.
