This year marks the tenth anniversary of the ANSWER Coalition. Founded just three days after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, ANSWER has been the central organizer of many major demonstrations against war, racism and repression in cities from coast to coast over the past 10 years.

The nationally coordinated police assault against the Occupy Movement took a dramatic turn in the early hours of this morning with the nearly simultaneous police assaults against Occupy LA and Occupy Philadelphia.
At least 3,000 people came out to City Hall in downtown Los Angeles to defend the Occupy LA encampment on Sunday night, the eviction deadline ordered by LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the chief of police.
Around 5,000 students, university staff and community members joined a mass demonstration at UC Davis quad in response to the pepper spraying of peaceful protesters. A general strike in Davis has been called for Monday, Nov. 28.
Capitalism has today become a brake on human progress. Absurdly, it is accelerating human misery even while the capitalists get ever richer. People are aching for change.

Join workers, students, activists and poor people on Nov. 19 for a Socialism Conference in Los Angeles. It will take place from 10am-4pm at LACC.
ANSWER Coalition leaders and other movement organizers will be joining an exciting conference to be held in Chicago this Saturday, Nov.5, and Sunday, Nov. 6. We urge everyone who can to attend this important event.
