The Partnership for Civil Justice Fund's five-year-long free speech battle to overturn poster regulations used to target grassroots organizations has resulted in a historic federal court ruling striking down the law as unconstitutional.
On Nov. 19, the Syracuse Common Council will vote on legislation that will prohibit discrimination against individuals based on the way that they understand, identify, and/or express their gender.
On Aug. 9, several community organizations endorsed a letter to Centro written by Sally Johnston, of Disabled in Action of Greater Syracuse, detailing features of the new Centro Transit Hub that discriminate against the elderly and people with disabilities.
On Jan. 17, Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner personally delivered a 24-hour eviction notice to Occupy Syracuse.
In the wake of apparently coordinated police raids and evictions on Occupy encampments around the country, the Partnership for Civil Justice Fund has undertaken a major initiative to force public disclosure of documents on coordination and discussion between federal and local law enforcement and Mayors' offices in the assault against the Occupy movement.
