The ANSWER Coalition is circulating the following appeal from the Alliance for Global Justice in solidarity with Nicaragua against U.S. intervention.

By imprisoning the Five, the United States tried to punish the Cuban people for defending themselves against terrorism.

The Cuba and Venezuela Solidarity Committee in the United States joins a multitude of international solidarity groups, progressive governments, and revolutionary movements around the world in expressing our support for President Nicolás Maduro, the PSUV and the Bolivarian revolutionary process following the cowardly attempt on the life of the President in Caracas.

By mid-July it became clear that, despite persistent images of near-collapse painted by the international press, the country appears to be returning to something close to normality.

Colombia Humana has called for August 7 to be a day of national actions in Colombia to demand an end to political violence, and that the peace accords be honored. The Alliance for Global Justice, School of the America’s Watch, People’s Human Rights Observatory, Task Force on the Americas, Party of Liberation and Socialism, Freedom Road Socialist Organization, Marcha Patriótica of California, Committee to Free Simón Trinidad, and Camino Común have called for August 5-11 to be International Days for Peace in Colombia and against Death Squad and State Terror.

"The coup has failed thanks to the support of the majority of the Nicaraguan people for peace, but half a billion dollars in damage has been done and the peace is incomplete ..."

Israel and the U.S government are trying to hide the reality of the recent massacres and war crimes against an unarmed population by shifting the focus and the responsibility to Hamas, the Palestinian organization that administers the government in Gaza.

Since Nicolás Maduro's overwhelming re-election May 20, the U.S. government has stepped up its offensive against Venezuela and the country's Bolivarian Revolution that has empowered millions of poor and working people.

Protesters gathered from across the country in Washington, D.C., May 19 to express outrage at the Trump administration's extreme racism and anti-immigrant policies. 

On the day of the recent presidential election in Venezuela, the ANSWER Coalition and other progressive and solidarity organizations took part in actions to show solidarity and build support for its revolution.
