The ANSWER Coalition is part of a new ad hoc labor/community coalition that is organizing actions in Washington, D.C., and elsewhere from June 25 to 28 to "Save the U.S. Postal Service," and to stop the layoffs and union busting efforts by politicians in Congress who want to privatize the postal service.

Occupy Oakland was joined by thousands of community members, workers and other supporters at picket lines that shut down the Port of Oakland as part of the West Coast Port Shutdown actions on Dec. 12. Among the participants was Scott Olsen, the Iraq war veteran and Oakland occupier who suffered a head injury when he was struck by a police tear gas canister.

Capitalism has today become a brake on human progress. Absurdly, it is accelerating human misery even while the capitalists get ever richer. People are aching for change.

Over 75 people participated in an inspiring march for workers’ rights in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street in Syracuse during the Nov. 17 national day of action.
