Marriage Equality

A.N.S.W.E.R.-DC are marching in this year's LGBT Pride Parade. Everyone who supports Equal Rights for all are invited to join our Equal Rights/Anti-War Contingent!

We will be marching with progressive banners and signs against war and occupation, and for LGBT equality. We'll play music and have militant, political chants throughout the parade. Show solidarity with the LGBT community this Saturday. Let's unite to tell the Bush administration we won't stand for racism, sexism or anti-LGBT bigotry.

If you would like to march with the contingent (or are considering it), please email us at [email protected] with "DC Pride" in the subject line. If possible, please give us your cell phone number. If we receive an email from you, we will send you cell phone numbers for members of the contingent in case you cannot find us, and we will send you any logistical updates that we have. You can always meet us at the office in advance.

Important notes: The Parade begins at 6:30 pm. We will be in the "Staging Area" beginning at 5:00 pm. Please make sure to leave enough time to find us among the other contingents in the Staging Area. All the contingents are divided into color-coded sections - the A.N.S.W.E.R. contingent is in the purple section. To join our contingent enter the Staging Area from M St onto 25th St - the purple section will be on 25th St between M & N. If you need help finding us once you get there, you can look for the parade marshals wearing purple sashes.

Make sure to wear good walking shoes and pack a bottle of water. If you have an orange A.N.S.W.E.R. t-shirt please wear it. You can call us ahead of time if you would like to arrange to pick one up.

Click here for a map of the parade route, including the location of the "Staging Area" where you should meet us at 5:00 pm. (The exact location to meet us - 25th St. between M and N - is just off the map.)

Look for the A.N.S.W.E.R. signs and banners!
