Join us this Wednesday, September 7 for a rally at 5 pm at the White House (north side), part of the National Day of Emergency Action initiated by the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition. We will rally to demand:
- Jobs/Income & Housing for All Displaced Families
- Real Relief - Yes! Racism - No!
- Stop Racist Scapegoating of the Victims
- Jail the Real "Looters" the Big Oil executives
- Money for People's Needs, Not for War
- Stop Bush’s War Against the Poor at Home and Abroad
- Accept Cuba's offer to send doctors to aid the hurricane victims
After the rally, the weekly A.N.S.W.E.R. Activist Meeting will feature an eyewitness report from New Orleans by Caneisha Mills, a senior at Howard University and coordinator of Youth and Student A.N.S.W.E.R.
Caneisha was part of an A.N.S.W.E.R. delegation - that also included award-winning filmmaker Gloria La Riva and internationally-acclaimed photographer Bill Hackwell - who were in Louisiana and Texas from September 2-5. The meeting will include this eyewitness report, and photographs and video projected onto a 6x6 foot screen.
At the 7 pm meeting we will also discuss mobilizing for the September 24 mass protest against the war in Iraq and to demand that resources be used to meet human needs rather than for war and occupation.
