Statement on Christian Peacemaker Teams

The ANSWER Coalition joins with the people all over the world, including those in the Middle East, who are calling for the release and safe  return of the four peace activists in Iraq from the Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT). We hope that Tom Fox, Harmeet Sooden, James Loney, and Norman Kember are able to quickly return home to their families so that they may continue their work in support of the people of Iraq and to end the war.

The CPT is not an agency of the U.S. government and has worked to expose the horrors of the U.S. war against the people of Iraq. The CPT activists in Iraq are opposed to the U.S. occupation and militarization of Iraq. CPT members have also stood with the people of Palestine confronting, defending against, and exposing the crimes against the Palestinian people by Israeli Occupation Forces.
