February 25 Wash. DC: Two events

Please join us at two important events
taking place in Washington DC this Saturday, February 25.

  • At 10:00 am, there will be a rally in front of the Cuban Interests Section (2630 16th Street NW) to say no to the latest U.S. provocations against Cuba at the same time as the "Cuban Memorial Committee," one of many U.S.-backed organizations engaging in hostile actions against Cuba, will be holding a rally (which begins at 11:00 am).
  • At 1:00 pm, there will be a forum on the Expanding U.S. War Drive in the Middle East and the Forces Resisting It with featured speaker Richard Becker, an expert on the Middle East who just returned from Syria. The forum will take place at the Festival Center, 1640 Columbia Rd. NW.

These two events are within walking distance of one another. Please join both this Saturday! Details are below.

Say "No"
to
U.S. Provocations
     Against Cuba
Saturday, February 25
Gather at 10:00 am
Cuban Interests Section
2630 16th Street NW
(16th St. between Euclid and Fuller,
2 blocks south of Columbia Rd.,
metro to Columbia Heights)

The A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition will join the No War on Cuba Movement, Alliance for Global Justice, A-APRP, Pan-African Roots, Pastors for Peace, and other organizations in Saying "NO!" to the Latest Provocations against Cuba!

On Saturday, February 25, a group called "The Cuban Memorial Committee" will hold a protest beginning at 11:00 am in front of the Cuban Interests Section in WashingtonDC. They describe themselves as an organization that "constitutes a fervent effort by the Cuban exile community to remember and pay tribute to all who made the ultimate sacrifice for a free Cuba."

This group is clearly part of the 46-year-long campaign waged by the U.S. government to overthrow the Cuban Revolution, a campaign that they pursue through the use of the economic blockade, overt military threats, as well as overt and covert support for these types of organizations. It is of the utmost importance that all those who stand against this campaign come together this Saturday beginning at 10:00 am.

Rally Damascus March 9, 2005

Featured speaker:

Richard Becker,

West Coast Coordinator of
the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition
who recently traveled to Syria

Richard Becker recently returned from Syria, where he took part in a conference of Palestinian refugees. He is an expert on the Middle East who has also traveled to Palestine, Iraq and elsewhere in the region.

The U.S. - along with the former colonial powers of the region, England and France - are aggressively seeking "regime change" in Syria. They seek to accomplish their agenda for domination of the region under the guise of the UN.

The Bush administration, pretending to be champions of "democracy" in Lebanon and Syria, have launched a massive disinformation campaign designed to isolate and demonize the Syrian government.

This public forum will be an opportunity to hear a first-hand report from Syria, analysis of Washington’s real objectives and strategy, and implications for the entire Middle East. It will include historical background, what has led up to this unfolding crisis, its relationship to the struggle in Iraq and Palestine, and threats against Iran. A discussion period will follow the presentation.
