March 11 Antiwar Rally in New Paltz, New York

Over 500 people attended an antiwar rally on the campus of the State University of New York in New Paltz March 11 to mark the third anniversary of the war in Iraq. They listened to a variety of speakers, singers and musicians - from the antiwar slam poetry presented by a SUNY student to a denunciation of the war by the region's Congressman - make demands for
peace, immediate withdrawal and the end of imperialism.

The rally, held at the school?s biggest auditorium, was sponsored by the ad hoc March 11 Stop the War Coalition of some 50 peace, justice, student and political groups from the Hudson Valley, including Mid-Hudson ANSWER.  The event was initiated and organized by the Hudson Valley Activist Newsletter.
