On Saturday, July 10, people from across the East Coast will protest against anti-immigrant racism when Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer comes to Boston for the National Governors Association annual meeting in Boston.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer’s racist law, SB 1070, has ignited a firestorm of protests around the country at the very time when immigrants and their supporters are standing up for reform. Other states are reportedly considering similar moves. These attacks come at a time when all people are suffering from the wave of budget cuts and mass unemployment that makes racism and anti-immigrant xenophobia so dangerous.

It’s time for Brewer and the rest of the state governors to be met with the outrage felt by millions of immigrants and their supporters!

On the night before SB 1070 takes effect...
PROTEST ANTI-IMMIGRANT RACISM IN ARIZONA
Full rights for all! No human being is illegal!

Wednesday, July 28, 5pm
Arizona State Capitol
Phoenix, Arizona

On July 29, Arizona's racist law, SB 1070, goes into effect. SB 1070 enshrines racial profiling and immigrant bashing into law.

A wave of protest has greeted SB 1070 since it was passed in April. Hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets in Arizona and across the country. Economic and cultural boycotts have spread. The U.S. Conference of Mayors has called for the law's immediate repeal.

As more people speak out against SB 1070, other states are threatening similar legislation, and the very authors of SB 1070 in Arizona have pledged to pass even more racist measures targeting immigrants and working families. The racists want to strike fear into the hearts of immigrants and all people of color. They want people to stand down and accept every racist measure they throw at us. It is time to fight back!

Join the ANSWER Coalition and other community organizations and individuals at Arizona's capitol building in Phoenix for a protest the night before SB 1070 takes effect. The struggle to stop racism and for full equality is very real in Arizona. It is part of the national struggle for civil rights. Organized resistance to SB 1070 must continue!
