April 4 is the seventieth anniversary of the formation of the US-led military alliance, NATO. Foreign ministers from NATO countries are meeting in Washington, D.C., to celebrate the anniversary. Twenty-eight years after the end of the so-called Cold War, people are coming together to demand that NATO be abolished. The United States and its principal imperialist allies in NATO are also waging a coordinated effort to overthrow the elected government of Venezuela. On Saturday, March 30, there will be a protest starting at the White House at noon called by a coalition of anti-war organizations. On Thursday, April 4, the Black Alliance for Peace will be organizing an important forum.
