No U.S. Intervention in Haiti!

Once again the United States, in league with other nations, is attempting to invade and occupy Haiti under false pretenses. The current “government” of Haiti was installed by the United States last summer and has no popular legitimacy, while instability, violence and poverty have skyrocketed. The countries sponsoring and supporting such an intervention — led by the US and Mexico — are saying it is for “security” against Haitian paramilitary gangs. But the very Haitian authorities they support are deeply intertwined with the same armed gangs.

From 1915 to today, repeated US-backed occupations of Haiti have only led to deeper misery and the disempowerment of the Haitian people. For nearly a month, hundreds of thousands of Haitians have protested across the country opposing foreign intervention and demanding the unelected “Prime Minister” Ariel Henry and his whole government step down.

The ANSWER Coalition is calling on everyone to stand with the masses of Haitian people in saying NO to colonial-style interventions, occupations and sanctions.

I oppose U.S./UN intervention in Haiti.

Intervention and occupation are not the way out of Haiti's political crisis. Haiti needs self-determination and reparations.
