The camps at the Standing Rock Sioux reservation are continuing their fight to protect their land and the water of millions of people. This indigenous-led movement has brought together hundreds of tribes in an effort to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline, and they have stood stalwart against police violence and media distortion. Soon they will be facing the impending effects of a brutal pro-police administration.
The people of Sarasota stand with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe! Join ANSWER Coalition, PEACenter, the American Indian Movement, and the United Urban Warrior Society for a fundraiser for the water protectors.
Several local activists will be speaking about their experiences at Standing Rock, and Joelle Clark from the United Urban Warrior Society will be video conferencing in to speak about her experiences in the movement against the Sabal Trail Pipeline.
We'll serve delicious food. Vegan and vegetarian friendly!
Entrance with a $20 donation, additional donations are encouraged. (100% of the donations are going to Standing Rock)
