Fernando Vegas Torrealba has been serving on the Venezuelan Supreme Court (TSJ) since 2004. He serves on the TSJ Electoral Chamber and is an expert on the Venezuelan electoral (and judicial) system. He will be participating in the National Lawyers Guild’s Annual Law for the People Convention, taking place in Oakland.

Given the importance of the upcoming (December 6) parliamentary elections in Venezuela and the negative US main-stream media coverage of everything Venezuelan, we are fortunate to have Justice Vegas come to the Bay Area to explain the Bolivarian Constitution, its judicial system, and its highly acclaimed electoral system. He will also speak on illegal US government funding of opposition political NGOs and will give an update on the Leopoldo Lopez case and the border closures with Colombia—and how the judicial system is handling these issues.

Fernando Vegas Torrealba ha estado sirviendo en la Corte Suprema de Venezuela (TSJ) desde 2004. Es miembro  de la Cámara Electoral del TSJ y es un experto en el sistema electoral y judicial de Venezuela. Él estará participando en la Convención Popular Nacional del Gremio de  Abogados que tendrá lugar en Oakland.

Dada la importancia de las elecciones parlamentarias en Venezuela del próximo 6 de diciembre y de la cobertura negativa de los medios estadunidense sobre las cosas venezolanas, tenemos suerte con tener al Magistrado Fernando Vegas en el  Área Bahía para explicarnos la Constitución Bolivariana, su sistema judicial y su aclamado sistema electoral. También hablará sobre el  financiamiento ilegal de los EE.UU. a las ONG políticas  de oposición,  dará una actualización sobre el caso de Leopoldo López y sobre los cierres de la frontera con Colombia —y cómo el sistema judicial está respondiendo a estos temas.
