As protesters continue to gather in Sacramento and around the country to demand justice for Stephon Clark, an unarmed Black man who was shot eight times while standing in his own backyard, the movement against racist police terror intensified across the country.
Students across California have been organizing for Stephon Clark, from Sacramento State and Saddleback College on April 3, to California State University - Long Beach, California State University - Channel Islands and the University of Southern California on April 5.
Outraged community members in Brooklyn, New York, took to the streets following the murder of Saheed Vassell, a Black man murdered by the New York Police Department while holding a shower head that cops claim they thought was a gun. On April 5, the Vassell family and the community of Crown Heights marched from the intersection where Saheed was shot to the 71st precinct to demand justice and accountability.
In Sarasota, Florida, the ANSWER Coalition organized a demonstration to demand justice for Chad Washington, who was brutally tasered and beaten while in handcuffs by officers of the Sarasota Police Department.
